Ione "June" Berry

MR. IONE "JUNE" BERRY, 82, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House after a short illness. He was born June 12, 1929, to the late Ione and Dora Berry in Maysville, KY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Catherine Lyons Berry. June is survived by his two dear sisters, Mary Caul of Huntington, WV, and Frances Thompson of Richmond, VA; two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Morabito (Rocco) of Huntington, WV, and Mrs. Cathy Seagraves (Ralph) of Lavalette, WV; five grandchildren, Shawn Burns and his wife, Mica, Justin Blankenship and fiance, Mary Chamness, Christopher Seagraves, Chris Morabito and fiance, Alicia Dempsey, and Rocco Morabito, Jr., and his wife, Allison; one great granddaughter, Olivia Abner; his best friend of many years, Beulah Frazier; his devoted and treasured "daughter", Misty Bruton and her children, Blake Adkins and Jacque Cox; and many nieces and nephews whom he treasured. June was a veteran serving in the United States Army and Marines and was retired from the United States Postal Service. June enjoyed family, travel, his bible, and people. He never met a stranger and his quick wit and genuine interest left a warm impression. He loved animals, and leaves behind "his" dog, Charlie. June enjoyed travel with Nora, and later, Brenda, with many happy memories made in their adventures with Chris and Olivia. The family will receive friends from 11 AM to Noon Friday, January 13, 2012, at Schneider- Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, with graveside prayers to follow at 12:15 PM at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV.
