Jonathan Noah Thacker

Jonathan Noah Thacker, 48, of Del Rey Beach, Florida, entered into his Heavenly Father's presence on September 23, 2022. Jonathan was born to Joe and Phyllis Thacker on November 14, 1973 and grew up in the village of Chesapeake, Ohio where he excelled in multiple sports including basketball and football. Jonathan graduated in the Chesapeake Class of 1992. He grew up in Union Missionary Baptist Church where he was baptized and became a member during his youth helping in Union Basketball Camp, Bible studies, and youth activities. Jonathan has three incredible children, Nathanial, Jonathan Daniel (J.D.), and Marissa, who are loved by their family, friends, and their community. Although his life was not without struggle, Jonathan made an impact on many lives with his loving personality, his craftsmanship, and his heart for those who may have struggles of their own. He spent several years in No Longer Bound Ministries ministering to men with addiction and helping them back to a road of recovery. Jonathan loved sports, the outdoors, and working with his hands with the gifts God clearly gave him. Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chauncey and Edna Thacker and Harry and Laura Mayenchein. He is survived by his father, Joe, and his mother, Phyllis; his three children, Nathanial, J.D., Marissa and their mother, Melissa Taylor; his brothers, Timothy (Kiera) and Joey (Jamie) and his sister, Nicole Borodi (Aurel). He was also blessed to have been survived by many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces, and his girlfriend, Jessica Canziani. During this difficult time our family finds hope in the words of our Savior in John 11:25 - "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die..." A time of fellowship with the family will be held from 11:45AM - 12:45PM on Friday, September 30th at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM and be officiated by his uncle, Pastor Mark Thacker. The Thacker family is beyond grateful for the help and support of Pastor Randy See and the outpouring of love and sympathy received from the church family, family members and countless friends who loved Jonathan and his family.
