Samuel Pennington

Samuel James Pennington, 75 of South Point, Ohio passed away on February 3, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Sam was born on April 13, 1945 to Beulah (Perkins) Pennington and Eddie Raul Pennington in Logan County, WV. After graduating from South Point High School in 1963, he went on to Electronics trade school in Louisville, KY 1963 - 1965. He then went on to join the Air Force from 1965 - 1969, a Vietnam Veteran, honorably discharged. He met Glenda (Baines) Pennington, the love of his life, around the same time he transitioned out of the military. They were married in April 1971 and blessed with 2 beautiful children, Randall â??Randy' Pennington, and Yolanda â??Lana' (Pennington) Toombs. Sam was a laid-back, yet hardworking man, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. Family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He always showed Randy, Lana, Glenda, and the Grandchildren how much he loved them. He looked forward to spending as much time as he could with his grandkids. Seeing Sam and Glenda at their grandkids academic and sporting events in Chillicothe, OH or Charleston, WV was a regular occurrence. Passionate about hunting, fishing, golf, and all sports, Sam could often be found at Yatesville Lake fishing with Glenda when he was not at home. He was the most loving Father, Husband, Grandfather, Uncle and Brother a family could ask for. Sam was preceded in death by Eddie and Beulah Pennington, and Roger Pennington. He survived by his wife Glenda, son Randy, daughter Yolanda, daughter-in-love Audrie, son-in-love Kwasi, grandchildren Trevan (Olivia), Jett, Jasmine and Mya; Ed and Margaret Pennington, Charlie and Sandra Pennington, and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins. There will be a celebration of life Saturday, Feb 6, 2021 at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home from 4-6pm (streaming online).
