Sharon Kay Wells

Sharon "Kay" Wells (77) entered eternal peace on November 28, 2023 surrounded by her family. Kay was born August 19, 1946 in Norfolk, Virginia on the Norfolk Naval Base and a 1964 graduate of Eastern Meigs High School. Kay was proceeded in death by one sister Nancy Rose Marcinko, her mother Ethel Rose New and her father Otis B. New. Kay is survived by one son Bryan (Glenna) Wells of Chesapeake, Ohio, three grandsons Justin McCreery of Chesapeake, Ohio, Luke (Karen) Beach of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Jacob (Allison) Wells of Chesapeake, Ohio and two great granddaughters Rosalie Beach of Rochester Hills, Michigan and Audrey Rose Wells of Chesapeake, Ohio.Kay was an avid supporter of Chesapeake Sports throughout the years, her boisterous cheering could be heard throughout a stadium or gym when her boys were playing. Kay was a slow gin fizz drinking, shuffleboard extraordinaire with a spitfire, tell it how it was attitude who knew no stranger and made everyone laugh. No matter the circumstance her softness and kind heart showed through to everyone especially her loved ones and family. Mamaw Kay as her family called her, had the ability to make the best homecooked breakfast with her tasty, artery clogging bacon gravy and biscuits. Kay was a loyal member of the F.O.E. Eagles where she was a hot hand at tips and had a mean slide on the shuffleboard table. These aren't just "fishing" stories, they have been verified by countless men and women who fell to savvy south paw on the sandy hardwood. If and when you saw Kay out and about you best believe she was wearing some type of Betty Boop or Tweety Bird attire as those were two of her favorite things and go to outfits. To know Mamaw Kay was to love and adore her, she has left behind so many memories and stories that will last generations and then some. Funeral service will be held 12:30pm Friday December 1, 2023 at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home Chesapeake, OH. Visitation will be held from 11:30am to 12:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Barboursville, WV.
